Breakfast And Protein – 2016

I had a conversation last night about the importance of breakfast and getting enough protein, here is what I use and how I supplement:

Legion Whey+ Protein Powder

I really like all three flavors they have, these work great in a smoothie either before or after a workout. Bananas are easily digestible carbs, and the protein helps muscle regrowth

Example: blend 1 cup almond silk (or skim milk if you prefer), ice, 1 banana and 1 scoop chocolate protein powder – 230 calories

Quest Protein Powder – can get these at GNC individually to try them

I like these in oatmeal for breakfast – adds 20+ grams protein to the first meal of the day which helps carry me to lunch

I have tried the following:
½ cup 1-minute oatmeal, 1 pouch Quest strawberry protein powder, 1 banana, ¼ cup strawberries, boiling water
½ cup 1-minute oatmeal, 1 pouch Quest banana protein powder, ½ cup strawberries, boiling water
½ cup 1-minute oatmeal, 1 pouch Quest salted caramel protein powder, ½ cup apples, boiling water
½ cup 1-minute oatmeal, 1 scoop Legion French Vanilla protein powder, ½ cup blueberries and rasberries, boiling water

They come in between 300-400 calories for breakfast (the banana adds 100 calories) and help me get the extra protein I want.

I just found these last week at Tops. I bring those to work and put them in my oatmeal instead of real fruit – easier to deal with – but I do prefer the real fruit:

Brothers ALL Natural Fruit Crisps (freeze dried fruit) – 10 packs for $10 at Tops
